The phosphate rock sample contained 30.1% P2O5 and 44.4% CaO with a CaO/P2O5 ratio of 1.48. The value ≥ 1 indi-cates that Abu Tartur phosphate is a high-grade phosphate rock [2, 3]. The total REEs content of 1810 ppm (0.18%) is within typical ranges reported for sedimentary phosphate rocks.
